Child Safety Seats
The Ashburnham Police Department supports child safety. Children under the age of 12 years old should ride in the back seat of a motor vehicle in a professionally installed federally approved child safety restraint. Children over 5 years old and over 40 lbs. should ride in booster seats.
Children should only ride in the front seat when the vehicle is not equipped with a back seat and only when they can be properly restrained and the passenger air bag can be disabled.
The APD offers free installation of child car seats and booster seats. Car seats and booster seats are installed by certified technicians.
